I just received this group notice :
Group Notice From: DomoKun Giotto
Dear Merchants, it is with a heavy heart that I write you today to let you know that Tokugawa sim will be closing down. I know that many of you have an active clientele and that we have created a popular shopping experience for thousands of citizens. Unfortunately, business affairs are pressing and resources dedicated to support the sim are needed elsewhere. If you have paid rent beyond the end of June, please contact me. Please make arrangements to be moved by June 5, 2008.
Thank you, DomoKun Giotto
This is the first I’ve heard of this, and since many people aren’t in the Tokugawa Merchants group I thought I’d pass along the news here.

So this is the first I’ve heard of an official announcement but Xena mentioned a couple weeks ago that Tokugawa *might* be going away and they *might* try to get vendors to move to Heisei. Uhm…I guess contact Xena if you wanna know more cuz I got no official info.

I hadn’t heard Tokugawa was closing, but I’ve known for some time, that Domokun is planning to close and re-purpose away from C:SI. I am going to guess it won’t be too long before he closes Meiji as well.
Ah well. That’s business.

sad news i hope it turns out a solution for meiji at least
would miss me morning spar badly
The loss of Meiji would be a blow, but not as big as it would have been a few months ago now that Bloodlines and Phoenix are taking off.
I do like Meiji, and would not be happy to see it go, but it’s true that there are several other good places that could fill the gap.
The loss of any C:SI affiliated sim is bad news indeed. While true there are things to fill the gap, I still would feel sad as Tokugawa and Meiji contribute so much to the community. For now I believe Meiji will remain intact, so that is good news.
