Aw, shucks *blushes*, I'm glad you like it!

I have to say it was kind of odd to see you on Meiji fighting with no problems against an opponent who was reporting issues. That's just one of the things that makes it so mystifying, because obviously you both were under the same sim and lag conditions.

As for the sound, I tend to get really annoyed at stuff like that. For instance, when I'm on a Windows machine, I turn off all menu and click sounds. But that's just me, maybe. So yeah, while I think that the idea of an auditory feedback is good in principle, if I add it to my sword it'll definitely be an optional thing.

Evening folks. I know I'm a little late on this one, but I wanted to comment on how awesome Robby is.

He really is incredible at working with all of the folks who have had issues with the swords performance.

I myself do not have any issues with the block speed, jump kick, combos, or jump slash.

But it's so nice to see anyone in SL who is willing to work so hard to debug their product.

Yet another reason why C:SI is awesome. Robby Raccoon.

On a side note, the little clicky noise when you go into block in the Dynasty? I find that slightly annoying. So if you do decide to enable it, maybe you should make it an option, to turn it on and off, in the sword menu. Course, I dunno, that may get excessively complex. But wheee. Thanks.

"That’s a very interesting idea! I will see if I can dig up a suitable sound for that. If so, I’ll try to add that in the “not too distant” future update."

wow, Robby. Is there a way to install a spell-check on your blog? My spelling there was atroshus.

There is, but I've had a few problems with installing plugins on this site and breaking stuff.

The better alternative is to use FireFox :)

That's what I do, and it works well enough for most purposes without making me switch context.

I have a feature request though. Not an issue in anyway, but a nice to have. I had been using the Dynasty before I picked of the Teketori and if plays a nice sound when you press C to block. I have to addmit that I’ve become quite attached to that. It just lets me know that yes you are really in block. If it’s not to much trouble I’d love the same sort of thing with the Taketori.

That's a very interesting idea! I will see if I can dig up a suitable sound for that. If so, I'll try to add that in the "not too distant" future update.

Robby,
I'm having a great time with the Taketori. The only time I ever have trouble is if I start spamming buttons. You have to relax with this sword and let it do the cutting. Just like a real one. ;)

I have noticed a few things about the Taketori and I'm not sure if it's that I haven't figured out the timing of when to press my buttons to make anims happen smoothly or whether there are real issues.

1. I haven't tried jumpkicks so much, but i have noticed that the jumpslash isn't greatly reliable for me. Sometimes I do not slash, do not jump, or do neither. Other times I run, slash, slide on the ground for a couple of feet, then jump (W-hold for run, E-tap for jump, mouseclick-hold to activate combat system, W-tap for slash for this...I might be mouse clicking too fast after the E...reproducing the Musashi issue).

2. The kick-block-kick (mouseclick-hold, S-tap, C-tap, S-repeated-taps seems to be the best way to reproduce this) still can fail to initiate the second kick anim. I think perhaps if I simply take my time and use S-tap, C-tap, S-tap, it may not be such an issue. That being said, I can't read the second kick from users who might be rapid-tapping C for the second kick. The same can be said of the slash-block-slash, replacing C in the above key sequence with W.

3. I too have noticed that I will get some unwanted actions, including mystery slashes and mystery jumps most often. I am not sure how to reproduce either of these, however the mystery jump seems to occur most often when I leave block and try to retreat using S. Perhaps what is happening is that I am taking a last kick to the butt which launches me, but that's unlikely I thought in H4.

4. Failure to register the mouseclick to activate the combat system. When i am in block and want to kick or slash, sometimes instead I will move backward (when trying to click S to block) or forward (when trying to click W to slash). I have mouseclick held throughout my block usually, so the combat system should have remained active. However, somewhere along the way, I lose the ability to attack and can only move, while mouseclick is held. This does not happen to the Wave as far as I have noticed, so I have a low suspicion it's my mouse. People I have sparred have seen me shuffle forward or backward with the Taketori....no I'm not trying to dance :P

I also have a low expectation many of these things can be reproduced, as different swords act differently in lag, and i have been having my fill of that lately.

Good luck Robby. Thanks for your continued efforts.

If I have still the same issue with jumpkicks, on the other side the block releases fast here, and the combo kick-slash works perfectly (sooo smooth :) )
