		<description>I wonder if they've looked at creating "purely social" groups...  Groups that cannot own land, or have objects deeded, but exist for the sole purpose of allowing social interaction.  

That would be useful for some business as well, because product update announcement groups are often purely social, as are many of the "merchant association" groups I've seen.

It's highly unlikely that *any* perfect solution exists, but it's quite clear that a change is necessary.</description>

		<description>Hear hear! This seems frustrating and limiting. Even if the server processing claims are legitimate, surely there are other ways to address the problem. Maybe the user is only allowed 25 "active" groups, and unlimited inactive groups. Instead of quitting a group, you can shuffle them to inactive, with the option of reactivating your membership at any time. Voila, the server requirements are still at roughly the same level as 25 groups, yet the restriction on residents is lessened.
That might not be the best solution, but there should be _something_ LL can do to address this.</description>
